Gadchiroli Dec. 2 (District Correspondent) ‘Sports competitions played in school life are not just a part of entertainment, but they are very important for the overall development of every student and individual. Through sports competitions physical, mental and social qualities are developed in the players, which make their lives more positive and prosperous. Moreover, sports are necessary in life right from school life as they also work to increase harmony in various levels of society’.

This was stated by Assistant Police Inspector Vijay Chavan, while speaking as at the inauguration of the sports competition ‘Sainikotsav’ at Gondwana Sainik Vidyalaya here the other day.

Sainikotsav is organized every year at the local Gondwana Sainik Vidyalaya to give scope to the artistic and sports qualities of the students. The inaugural programme was presided over by the school principal Sanjeev Gosavi, while the inaugurator was Mr. Vijay Chavan. District Sports Officer Badkelwar, Taluka Sports Secretary Khushal Mhaske, Vice Principal Omprakash Sangrame, Supervisor Ajay Wankhede, Military Director Rishi Vanjari were prominently present.

At the beginning of the program, the sports flame was lighted by the guests. Cadets from all four houses of the school, in senior and junior groups, won the hearts of everyone by conducting march.

Badkelwar stated that Gondwana Sainiki School is seen as a school that performs well in the field of sports in Gadchiroli district due to the excellent sportsmanship of the students. Participating in sports competitions is very beneficial for physical fitness. Regular exercise, maintaining good body condition and participating in various sports are all essential for the body, he added.

The importance of sports competitions is not only limited to physical fitness, but they are also very important in terms of mental, social, and moral development. Therefore, participating in sports competitions makes a person better, richer and more confident. Every person needs to actively participate in sports competitions, said Principal Sanjeev Gosavi.

The program was introduced by Mr. Omprakash Sangrame, conducted by Yogesh Asamwar, and the vote of thanks was given by Gajanan Anmulwar.
