Gadchiroli Oct. 28 (District Correspondent) In the border area of Gadchiroli and Dhanora talukas, 16 drums of mahua flowers, along with two hand furnaces and materials were destroyed by the Muktipath activists from Dhanora and Gadchiroli Muktipath Taluka teams jointly with the help of village association of the village.
Both Gadchiroli and Dhanora talukas are bordered by dense forest. Taking advantage of this forest, liquor sellers in Ghotevehir and Sitatola areas use hand furnaces to filter liquor. Despite many actions against these sellers, they continue their illegal business. As a result, the villages in the area have to suffer a lot.
Even through the village organization, many activities against illegal liquor sale are being taken up. However, liquor sellers distil the liquor in the forest area and supply it to local retailers.
As soon as the information was received through the village organization that the sellers had set up hand furnaces in the forest area, the Muktipatha taluka team of both the talukas of Gadchiroli and Dhanora conducted a search operation in the forest area of Ghotevihir and Sitatola. During this search hand furnaces were found at two places. On further inspection of the spot, 16 drums of rotten mahua flowers and materials were also found which was destroyed on the spot itself.
