
Gadchiroli July 29 (District Correspondent) The district unit of All India Republican Party has demanded that the problems of the farmers be resolved immediately.
A delegation of the party office bearers met the Resident Deputy Collector Sunil Suryavanshi on Monday and submitted him a detailed memorandum regarding these problems that was addressed to the Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
The major demands included-as announced by the government, farmers should be given a complete loan waiver, the bonus announced by the government to farmers be paid immediately, fertilizers should be made available to farmers on time and in sufficient quantities, due to heavy rains and floods, the paddy crops planted by the farmers as well as the seeds were washed away and rotted hence the farmers be given financial assistance of Rs. 50,000 per acre, soon.
The demands also included in the memorandum that all farmers should be given the benefit of the crop insurance scheme, that farmers’ lands should not be forcibly acquired for the industrialists, that farmers and agricultural labourers above the age of 60 years should be given a pension of at least Rs. 10,000 per month, wild elephants should be immediately controlled and farmers should be immediately compensated for the crops damaged by elephants and other wild animals, farmers and labourers who died due to natural disasters or snakebites while doing agricultural work should be given immediate financial assistance, the Pandan roads passing through the farm areas should be constructed.
The delegation included District President Hansraj Undirwade, State Vice President Prof. Prakash Dudhe, District Secretary Narendra Raipure, District Organizer Hemant Sahare, Senior Activist Sukhdev Wasnik, Mahila Aghadi City President Vanmala Zade, City Vice President Kalpana Ramteke, Senior Activists Narendra Undirwade, Bharat Jambhulkar and other activists.
