Gadchiroli Jan. 27 (District Correspondent) The 75 th anniversary of the Indian Republic was celebrated at Samidha college of civil Services, Adpalli (Gogaon) on Jan. 26 last.
Mr. Kalidas Raut, President of the Sanstha presided over the programme while Ms. Kusum Alam, noted tribal poetess and activist, Prof. Tilesh Mohurle, Prof. Ankush Gohne, Sushant Raut, Pritam Kohpare were prominently present.
Speaking on the occasion Ms. Alam dwelt upon the importance of the Republic Day on which the implementation of the constitution of India was started and called upon the students to read the entire Constitution and follow the principles of equality, liberty, fraternity and secularism enshrined in the great national document.
Mr. Kalidas Raut called upon the students to take higher education and succeed in life as education is quite important in human life. He advised the students to follow the message of ‘Educate, Organize and Agitate’ given by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, the architect of the Constitution of India. Republic Day is the symbol of India’s real democracy and that needs to be maintained, he stated.
Some of the students of the college also expressed their views on the occasion. They included Ms. Arti Meshram, Shital Bhoyar, Suhani Ramteke. Prof. Tilesh Mohurle made an introductory speech, Akshani Marbate conducted the programme and Ms. Nikita Bhandekar proposed the vote of thanks. A large number of students, teachers and staff members attended the programme.
