Gadchiroli Feb. 13 (District Correspondent) The birth anniversary of Mata Ramabai Ambedkar was celebrated by Bhartiya Bouddha Mhasabha (BBM) and Vishakha Mahila Mandal at Samyak buddha Vihar here the recently.
The programme was chaired by Ms. Surekhatai Barsagade, senior functionary of BBM while Ms. Vilas Undirwade, President of Bouddha Mahasabha, Nagpur district, Lahuji Ramteke, Indira Undirwade, Archana Tembhurne, were the chief guests.
At the outset Buddha Vandana was recited and portraits of Lord buddha, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, Ramabai Ambedkar were garlanded by the guests. The guests highlighted the life and work of Ramabai describing her an ideal example of sacrifice for the family and the society.
Ramabai played an important role in the life of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and every Ambedkarite is proud of it. Every woman will remember the supreme sacrifice made by her and it will always be a source of inspiration for them, said the speakers.
Ms. Archana Bhaisare made an introductory speech, Ms. Aruna Raut conducted the programme and Manisha Walke proposed the vote of thanks. Ms. Jyoti Urade, Shashikala Sahare, Priya Jambhulkar, Sandhya Bhaisare, Leela Kotangale, Kalpana Raut, Chandrakala Tembhurne, Kanta Sahare, Pornima Bhadke, Sanjivani Wankhede, Yashodhara Jambhulkar and others took pains for the success of the programme which was largely attended.
