Gadchiroli Sept. 6 (District Correspondent) All India Republican Party has demanded that immediate measures should be taken to provide basic facilities in the remote areas of Gadchiroli district to facilitate the daily life of the people.

A delegation of the party met the Resident District Collectors today and submitted a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister in this regard.

As the people of the remote areas of Gadchiroli district still lack basic amenities, their daily life has become very difficult and pathetic. Especially in rainy days, they have to face a lot of difficulties in reaching the hospital due to lack of roads and bridges and many times people also have to lose their lives.

It is very unfortunate that even after 75 years of Independence, the citizens of this district are facing such problemsAlthough this is a violation of human and fundamental rights of all citizens, the government and administration are not paying serious attention to it, it was pointed out.

It is very serious for the district that despite spending billions of rupees on tribal development the situation of the district has remained like this. Where the funds have gone, they asked. Recently, two innocent children of Yerragadda in Aheri taluka lost their lives after treatment by Vaidu and due to lack of roads and facilities parents had to carry the bodies of those children for 15 kilometres on their shoulders.

Compensation should be given to the parents of the deceased children, construction of roads and bridges in remote areas should be done immediately, perennial means of transport should be provided in these areas, adequate doctors, other staff, medicine stocks and vehicles should be arranged in all the government health centres, it was demanded.

As the people still have superstitions, a large-scale awareness campaign should be carried out, legal action should be taken against those who work as vaidus, they should be given training on health and superstitions, all government employees and officials should be made to stay at their headquarters and strict action should be taken against those who do not stay, it was also demanded in the memorandum.

All India Republican Party District President Hansraj Undirwade, State Vice President Principal Prakash Dudhe Secretary Rajan Borkar Gadchiroli Vidhan Sabha Incharge Pradeep Bhaisare, Senior Worker Dadaji Dhakade, District Womens Vice President Kalpana Ramteke along with Secretary Kavita Vaidya were present in the delegation.
