Gadchiroli June 30 (District Correspondent) The activists of various political parties and social organizations staged a strong demonstrations in front of the entrance of Gondwana University here this afternoon demanding that a play organized by the university on the life of Dr. Hedgewar be cancelled.

The activists raised slogans in front of the main entrance of Gondwana University and registered their protest against the university. Gondwana University is an educational institution run by government funds and the fees of students. It is completely wrong and illegal to present programs in this institution that promote or propagate a particular ideology from the university funds, said the workers while speaking on the occasion.

Also, this is a form of forcibly imposing one ideology on the Dalit, tribal, Bahujan and minority people of this district and a gross violation of the principle of secularism given by the Indian Constitution, they added further and condemned the university administration.

The activists of these organizations then met the Vice Chancellor of the university, Dr. Prashant Bokare and submitted him a memorandum of their demand and discussed the issue in detail. The Pro VC Dr. Shriram Kawle and Registrar Dr. Anil Hirekhan were also present.

The agitation was led by Mr. Kunal Kove of the Adivasi Yuva Parishad, Vasantrao Kulsange of the Veer Baburao Committee, Prashant Madavi of the Gondwana Ganatantra Party, Kusum Alam of the Jango Raitad Mahila Samiti, Dr. Mahesh Kopulwar of CPI, Rohidas Raut,   of All India Republican Party Amol Markwar of CPM, Dharmanand Meshram of Azad Samaj Party, Devrao Chavale, Hansraj Undirwade, Raj Bansod, Vilas Nimborkar of Annis, Nagsen Khobragade, Sanjay Wakde, Jalil Sheikh, Rohidas Fulzhele, Prakash Khobragade, Chunnilal Motghare, Rambhau Kalbandhe, Pradeep Bhaisare, Pralhad Raipure, Narendra Raipure, Umesh Uike, Kalpana Ramteke, Malta Pudo, Lina Kokode and other workers were present.
