Gadchiroli July 12 (District Correspondent) Population is a major problem of the world. Various problems of the struggle and competition to survive on earth have arisen due to growing population. Today the population of the world has increased to nine billion. Additional growth of population poses a problem for the development of the country. After the population reached five billion on 11 July 1987, the consequences of population growth began to be felt by humans and UNO started 11th July as Population Awareness Day. All the political, social, educational institutions in the world should come forward and promote the day by understanding the justification and importance of that day.

This was stated by Dr. Chandrakant Dorlikar, Vice Principal of Mahatma Gandhi College Armori while speaking at World Population Day organized by the Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension Services of the College under the guidance of Principal Dr. Lal Singh Khalsa.

Prof. Dilip Ghonmode, Head of Department of Geography, Prof. Parag Meshram and Dr. Vijay Gorde were prominently present.

Any good or bad deed affects the world. Although low population is a problem for small countries, on average, it is clear that development is stunted due to overpopulation in the world. The new generation should understand the ill effects of population growth, and campaign to stop the population growth.
