Police celebrate ‘Rakshabandhan’ in remote areas.

Gadchiroli Aug. 19 (District Correspondent) Rakshabandhan programme was organized by the police department at police assistance centre of village Gardewada to boost the morale of women police officers.

Superintendent of Police Mr. Nilotpal, Additional Superintendent of Police (Campaign) Yatish Deshmukh and Additional SP (Administration) M. Ramesh specially visited the police centre and got the rakhis tied from the women police officers and students of Bhagwantrao Ashram School.

As many as 100 women and men and 70 school students of the village attended the program. Various materials were distributed by dignitaries to all those present.

Superintendent of Police Mr. Nilotpal said, “Women Police Officers serving at police stations, sub-post level in remote-extremely remote areas of Gadchiroli  are at the forefront of security and anti-Maoist operations. Many times, due to duty they have to celebrate this festival at their post. They cannot participate in the family, that is why the festival of Raksha Bandhan has been organized. He also wished the students of the ashram school for their bright future and Raksha Bandhan to all present.

Along with this, the C-60 commando force personnel who cannot celebrate Raksha Bandhan with their families because serving in highly sensitive areas, celebrated the festival with the students of Phule-Ambedkar College of Social Work, Gadchiroli. Prof. Pragya Wanmali celebrated Raksha Bandhan by tying rakhi to the officers and jawans of C-60 Force.

Also, Rakshabandhan festival was celebrated with enthusiasm by organizing various programs at various posts, sub posts and police assistance centres in the district.

Deputy Commandant of CRPF Etapalli Rajeev Singh, Assistant Commandant Vikram Saket, the Officer-in-Charge of Gardewada PSI Shinde along with other police officers and jawans and school teachers were present.
