
Gadchiroli Dec. 12 (District Correspondent) A new Police Assistance Centre was opened at village Pengunda under Bhamragad Sub-Division, 3 km from Chhattisgarh border was inaugurated on Wednes in presence of the senior police and CRPF officers.

Vikram, Special IG (Anti-Naxal Operation) Sandeep Patil, DIG of Police Gadchiroli Range Ankit Goyal, DIG of CRPF Ajay Kumar Sharma, Superintendent of Police, Mr. Nilotpal, Commandant of CRPF 113 Battalion Jasvir Singh, Additional SP (Operations) Yatish Deshmukh, Additional SP (Administration) M. Ramesh, Additional SP Aheri Shrenik Lodha, SDPO Bhamragad, Amar Mohite and newly appointed Officer-in-Charge of Police Assistance Centre Ganesh Phulkwar were prominently present on the occasion.
The Police Assistance Centre will be a milestone in contributing to the security and overall development of the citizens of the extremely remote Pengunda and surrounding villages and bringing them into the mainstream of development, it was hoped by the dignitories.
A large contingent of Gadchiroli Police Force was deployed to set up the said Centre. It was set up in just one day with the help of a total of 1050 manpower, 10 JCB machines, 10 trailers, 4 Poklens, 45 trucks etc. In this Center modern facilities like Wi-Fi, 20 porta cabins, generator shed, RO plant for drinking water, mobile tower, toilets, Mac wall for post security, BP morcha, 8 sand morchas etc. are being constructed.
Along with this, 4 officers and 45 personnel of Gadchiroli Police Force, 2 platoons of SRPF Group- 14- Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar and 1 Assistant Commandant and 70 personnel of CRPF 113 Battalion, 6 squads of Special Operations Team (150 commandos) have been deployed at the Police Assistance Centre.
During the construction of the Centre sarees, large cooking pots for women, tarpaulins, spray-pumps for men, lower pants, T-shirts, slippers, blankets for youths, bicycles, notebooks, pens, school bags, frocks, chocolates, biscuits for girls, cricket bats, balls, volleyball nets, volleyballs etc. were distributed to children and the citizens. The citizens have expressed their satisfaction over the construction of a new Police Assistance Centre in a very remote area and expressed their gratitude towards the police administration.
