GadchiroliAug. 16 (District Correspondent) Leader of Opposition Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Vijay Wadettiwar has made a sensational claim that the government in the state is in disarray and there is a conspiracy of the BJP to replace the current Chief Minister Eknath Shinde with Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. That is why the news is being spread by the Chief Minister’s office (CMO) after the statement of Shinde’s close aides that Shinde is sick.

Wadettiwar made this claim while speaking at a press conference held at the circuit house here this morning.

Wadettiwar was in the city for the first time after being elected as the Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly. He was accorded felicitation by the Maha Vikas Aghadi workers on Sunday. Accompanied by the senior Congress leaders, he held a press conference and interacted with the media persons on various issues in the state.

Elaborating his claim, he said, for the past few days, it is being said that Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s health is not good. But this was denied by the Chief Minister’s office. Today again the chief minister’s office has said that he is not well.

All this is a well-designed plot of BJP in the direction of making Ajit Pawar the Chief Minister of Maharashtra by making Shinde sick. Wadettiwar further claimed that a meeting between Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar was held against this background. He also said that if Sharad Pawar clarifies his position regarding Ajit Pawar’s meeting with, the confusion in people’s minds will be removed.

The very state government is in a confused position. It is difficult to understand who is running the government. A cold war is going on among the partners of the government. Funds are being distributed partially. It is a sort of dacoity on the govt. exchequer. To get the support of some MLAs, exchequer is being used, Wadettiwar alleged.

The deaths in Thane hospital is a very serious issue which needs to be investigated impartially to find out the exact cause of deaths. Taking moral responsibility of the deaths in Thane hospital, Chief Minister should resign, he demanded.

There is a large-scale corruption in the purchasing of the equipemnts in the district hospital. The items were purchased in at least three times more prices and the figure amounts to more than 300 crores, he alleged demanding impartial enquiry into the issue. The state govt. has failed in providing 12 hours power supply to the people. The standing crops of the farmers are on verge of dying in want of irrigation, Wadettiwar further allged.

The Forest Act has been amended keeping an eye on the minerals. If the iron projects can be sanctioned ignoring the forest rules, why can’t the long pending irrigation projects like Tultuli, Karwafa and Chenna be given sanction, he asked demanding early sanction of these projects.

Also present at the press conference were Dr. Namdeo Usendi, ex MLA, Mahendra Bramhanwade, DCC chief, Dr. Nandeo Kirsan, General Secretary, MPCC, Adv. Rambhau Meshra, ex ZP councillor, Dr. Nitin Kodwate, Rajesh Katratwar, Satish Vidhate, Wamanrao Sawsakde, Adv. Kavita Mohorkar and others.
