Gadchiroli June 28 (District Correspondent) Rashtiya OBC Mahasangha has strongly opposed the government move to fill up district-level Group C and Group D cadres for tribal-dominated districts along with 10 percent reservation for Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC) category.

A delegation of the Mahasangha workers met the Resident Dy. Collector Suniul Suryawanshi and submitted him a memorandum addressed to the chief minister in this regard.

While implementing 10 percent reservation for SEBCs in tribal dominated districts and increasing reservation for Scheduled Tribes in jobs, OBC reservation may be affected. If an attempt is made to reduce the reservation of OBCs in the district and give it to SEBCs, and to increase the reservation of tribals, it will be a great injustice to the OBCs, it has been stated in the memorandum.

If this happens, the OBC Mahasangha and other like-minded organizations will launch agitations across Maharashtra and the Mahayuti government will have to face the consequences in all the upcoming elections, it has been warned.

The government should seriously consider the issue and ensure that injustice is not done to OBCs, it has been urged. OBC Mahasangha Working President Prof. Sheshrao Yelekar, District President Dadaji Choudhary, Working President Ramkrishna Tajne, Pandurang Ghotekar, Prof. Devanand Kamdi, Suresh Bhandekar, Dr. Suresh Ladke, Chandrakant Shivnkar, Mangala Karekar, Rahul Bhandekar, Govindrao Banbale, Dadaji Chafle, Arun Munghate, Govardhan Chavan, Suresh Mandavgade, Purushottam Maske, Shaligram Vidhate and other workers were present at the delegation.
