Concerted efforts needed for the development of Gadchiroli- Sanjay Seth.

Gadchiroli Dec 30(District Correspondent) To remove Gadchiroli district from the list of aspirational districts, there is a need for concerted efforts and prompt work of the people’s representatives and officials, said Union Minister of State for Defense Sanjay Seth today. He expressed the belief that this matter will be possible soon due to the teamwork of the officers who have given the district a new lease of life.

Mr Sanjay Seth has come on a two-day visit to Gadchiroli district to review the progress of Aspirational District. He reviewed the developmental works of various government departments at Niyojan Bhawan today.

Collector Avishant Panda, Superintendent of Police Nilotpal , MP Dr Namdev Kirsan, MLA Ramdas Masram, MLA Dr Milind Narote, Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Rajendra Bhuyar were mainly present on this occasion.

Mr Seth, while emphasizing on education, took information about the number of schools in the district, attendance of students, mid-day meal scheme. He also directed to submit a proposal to establish a Kendriya Vidyalaya in the district. He said that there is a need to enable infrastructure to strengthen the health system.

While reviewing the agriculture department he sought the information about the major crops in the district, relief facilities for farmers affected by natural calamities, measures to increase the income of farmers, Kisan credit cards, Kisan Samman Yojana etc

He asked if there was any problem in distribution of benefits and inquired about how the irrigation water will be available in the farmers’ fields, what measures are being taken and appealed to the officials to give detailed information about what help is needed from the government to remove the district from the list of aspiring districts.

He said that this information will be submitted to the Prime Minister’s Office and thus substantial help will be available to the district. He praised the achievement of 92 percent of the target under the Jaljeevan Mission scheme and instructed to complete the remaining works at the speedy pace.

District Collector Avishyant Panda gave information about the district through a presentation. Superintendent of Police Nilotpal gave information about the ongoing efforts to end Naxalism. On this occasion, MP Dr. Namdev Kirsan, MLA Ramdas Masram, Dr. Milind Narote raised various issues of the district before the Minister.

Mr. Sanjay Seth visited the training centre at Gondwana University and interacted with the students. He also visited Kotgal Gram Panchayat and interacted with the villagers. He also visited Kotgal Barrage and inspected the work there. Additional Collector Vivek Ghodke, District Planning Officer Shriram Pachkhede, all sub-divisional officers and heads of various departments were present at the meeting.
