Gadchiroli Sept. 23 (District Correspondent) A unique initiative of distributing umbrellas to the poor vegetable vendors was taken up by Gadchiroli District Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Chandra Pawar) womens wing here the other day.
District Secretary of NCP Mahila Aghadi Rituja Kannake, Sushma Yevle, City President Preeti Kove visited the city market area and distributed umbrellas to the rural women farmers who bring their vegetables for sale in the city.
These women they sell their vegetables by sitting on the side of the road somewhere in the sun or in the rain. To see that such farmer female vegetable sellers could get protection from heat and rain the NCP Mahila Aghadi workers met them and distributed umbrellas among them.
The umbrellas carried the NCP symbol of a man playing a trumpet. City president of Mahila Aghadi Sunita Selokar, city general secretary Meena Malvankar, Khushbu Ramteke, Reena Gedam, Manjusha Lambat, Purnima Gadsulwar, Ashwini Bhasarkar and other women officials were present on this occasion.
