Gadchiroli Dec. 3 (District correspondent) The Naxalites murdered another man at village Murkuti on Gadchiroli- Gondia district border, 14 kms from Korchi Police Station this morning.
Chamra Madavi (38) has been given the name of the deceased man. The deceased was a hardcore naxal supporter, his sister is a Maoist member of Vistaar Platoon No. 3 and wife of DVCM, said the police.
A pamphlet was found near the body of the deceased which states that he was earlier working for naxals but later was collecting money in name of naxals from several contractors. He has also been branded as police informer.
Chamra was arrested early last year from Balaghat in Madhya Pradesh for trying to supply rounds to Naxals and was released from jail few months back. Further investigation from all possible angle of this murder is being conducted by Gadchiroli Police.
This murder has created a reign of terror in the Korchi area. This is the fourth murder committed by the Naxalites during the past over fortnight’s period. The earlier three murders were committed in the southern Gadchiroli district. This time they seem to have turned their north Gadchiroli.
Presently PLGA Week is being observed by the Naxalites from Dec. 2 last. On the very first day of this Week, the Maoists put a banner in Bhamragad appealing the people to observe the PLGA Week. The Naxalites observe such Week every year between Dec. 2 to 8 to mark the formation of People’s Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA), the armed organization of the Maoists.
Elaborate security arrangements have been made in the naxal affected areas following the appeal of the naxals.
