Gadchiroli March 23 (District Correspondent) A five-day geological study tour was jointly organized by the Department of Geology of Sant Gadgebaba University, Amravati and the Department of Geology of Shri. Govindrao Munghate College, Kurkheda recently under the guidance of Dr. Rajabhau Munghate, Principal of Munghate College.

During this field visit, the students visited various places like Sausar Group of Rocks, Sakoli Fold Belt, Khursipar Iron Ore Deposit, Chirchar Band Metamorphics, Nawargaon Chowa Kay Night Mine, Dongargaon Fluorite Mine, Itiadoh Engineering Geology, Khandeshwar Iron Ore Deposit, Sakoli Sandstone, Conglomerate, Dongargad Granite and Amgaon Naysic Complex etc.

During these visits, the students were given in-depth guidance on various topics such as mineral origin, movement of earth layers, various effects of environment on rocks, site selection for dams, mineral mining process etc. by the experts of the respective subjects.

Dr. Y. A. Mavale, Head of the Department of Geology, Sant Gadgebaba University, Amravati and Dr. Gunwant Vadapalliwar, Head of the Department of Geology, Shri Govindrao Munghate College of Arts and Science, Kurkheda, Prof. Pawan, Prof. Trupti, along with the Mine Manager of Maharashtra State Mining Corporation Vijayanand Kolvate, Uttam Kharabhe, Engineer of Etiyadoh Project and other expert guides visited and provided geological guidance to the students.
