
Gadchiroli Oct. 7 (District Correspondent) Shri Govindrao Munghate Arts and Science College, Kurkheda run by Dandakaranya Educational and Cultural Development Research Institute, Gadchiroli, has received three awards from Gondwana University in a single year.
At the foundation day of Gondwana University, the awards were given away to the college in the presence of renowned neurologist Padma Shri Dr. Chandrashekhar Meshram, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Prashant Bokare, Pro-VC Dr. Shriram Kawale, Registrar Dr. Anil Hirekhan.
Prof. Dr. Abhay Salunkhe, Head of the Microbiology Department of the college was awarded the best Lecturer award, Padma Shri S. R. Ranganathan Best Librarian Award was given to the Head of the Library Department of the college, Dr. Anil Bhoyar. The best annual magazine award was also given to the college magazine ‘Mridangadh’. The hat-trick of three awards in a single year is a credit to the college’s progress, innovative initiatives and achievements, said Principal Dr. Rajabhau Munghate while talking to the press persons.
Earlier, Dr. Rajabhau Munghate was awarded as the best principal of Gondwana University, Dr. Narendra Arekar as the best college, Dr. Sanjay Mahajan as the best program officer of the National Service Scheme, Milind Pradhan and Vrishab Meshram as the best volunteers of the National Service Scheme, Dimple Borkar as the best student. The ‘Mridangadh’ annual magazine has been awarded the first prize as the best magazine for five consecutive years. This year, by giving three awards to this college, Munghate College has maintained its top position in the Gondwana University awards.
Munghate College has always taken the initiative in implementing innovative activities which are being carried out in the college with students and society as the centre.
For receiving all three awards from the university, President of Dandakaranya Sanstha and the Principal of the college, Dr. Rajabhau Munghate, members of the College Management Committee have congratulated the teachers, students and staff of the college.
