Ms. Asha Bawne gets National Florence Nightingale award.

Gadchiroli Sept. 13 (District Correspondent) Ms. Asha Bawne, a Nurse with the district Hospital here was felicitated with ‘National Florence Nightingale Award’ by President of India Draupadi Murmu in New Delhi on Thursday for her outstanding contribution to healthcare. She was the only one health official from Maharashtra to get this honour.

The award was in the form of one lakh rupees and a citation. Collector Sanjay Daine and District Surgeon Dr. Madhuri Kilnake has congratulated Asha Bawne.

Ms. Asha Bawne was previously working as a nurse in Chandrapur and presently has been working in Gadchiroli. She has been working especially in tribal and remote areas. She played important role in Diarrhoea Outbreak Control, health services during Hajj pilgrimage as well as contributed significantly to the National Health Programmes. During the Kovid-19 epidemic, she offered special services. The vaccination campaign conducted by her was specially appreciated.

The award ceremony was graced by Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda, Union Minister of State for Health Anupriya Patel, and Health Secretary Apoorva Chandra. National Florence Nightingale Awards are given since 1973.
