The IBM and MEMC officers flagging off the teams.

Gadchiroli Dec. 24 (District Correspondent) The 35th Mines Environment and Mineral Conservation Week of the year 2024-25 was celebrated recently under the aegis of Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM), Nagpur region.

The week-long event involved the well-known mineral giant of the region Lloyds Metals and Energy Limited of Surjagad and various working mines of major minerals in the country which displayed their different operations and technological inventions.

The flag-off ceremony took place at Indira Bhawan, Civil Lines, Nagpur. During the ceremony, IBM officials, Executive Members of the MEMC Council, mine owners, mine engineers and geologists took an oath to uphold environmental and mineral conservation. Following this, the MEMC teams commenced visits to the participating mines.

A total of 38 working mines participated in the event which were categorized into four groups such as Fully Mechanized Open Cast Mines, Mechanized Underground Mines, Semi-Mechanized and Manual Open Cast Mines.
