Late Thakurdas Ji Bang Memorial Lecture Series was organized on the occasion. Thakurdas Bang was an economist and rural economics was his lifelong passion. Accordingly, Ashok Bang, Director of Chetna Vikas Sanstha Wardha, gave a detailed presentation on the topic of ‘State and Direction of the Agricultural Sector of the Republic of India’.

He gave information and examples on the current state of agriculture, in fact, how and why it became a desolation, the government policies behind it, the gap between the cost of production of agriculture and the fair price received by farmers. What should be the direction of future agricultural development? Fair price for the farmer, favourable role of the government and what measures are necessary. The current schemes are not sufficient for the farmers, he pointed out. Those who consume should also remember that farmers are food providers and agriculture is the mainstay of our country. He presented various such examples on this occasion.

Social activists from various parts of Gadchiroli district, Gurudev Seva Mandal, Anis, District Prohibition Organization, Muktipath organizations and all the activists of Search Sanstha were mainly present on this occasion.

Dr. Abhay Bang expressed his intention to organize Thakurdas Bang Memorial Lecture on 27th January every year from now on.
