Maratha Sewa Sangha pays tributes to Rajmata Jijau

Mr. Suresh Ladke and others seen paying tributes to Rajmata Jijau.

Gadchiroli June 20 (District Correspondent) The 351st death anniversary of Rajmata Jijau was observed by Maratha Seva Sangh, Jijau Brigade and members of Shivarai Self-Help Group in the premises of Jagatguru Tukobarai Library the other day.

Maratha Seva Sangh District President Dr. Suresh Ladke presided over the programme while former president Shalikram Vidhate, Dadaji Chafle, Pandurang Nagapure, working president Prof. Vijay Kuttarmare, secretary Maroti Dudhabawre, Govindrao Brahmanwade, Dadaji Chudhari, Ramkrishna Tajne, Prof. Sheshrao Yelekar were prominently present.

Speaking on the occasion said that Jijau gave the strength to Shivaji Raja and Sambhaji Raja to fight bravely against the Mughals. She always gave priority in keeping the interests of the common people. She firmly believed that the interests of the people are important for Swarajya and implemented various reforms strictly.

Jijau Brigade member Prof. Sandhyatai Yelekar said that in the Marathi Empire of Jijau, women started getting respect and honour. When we observe the atrocities and treatment meted out to women in the recent times, the memory of Maa Jijau comes to mind and we feel the need for her to come back to this earth.

On this occasion, Madhukar Tajne, Rajesh Gohane, Ghanshyam Mhaske, Suresh Bhandekar, Ghanshyam Jakkulwar, former district president of Jijau Brigade Smita Ladke were mainly present.
