Gadchiroli Nov. 13 (District Correspondent) Maharashtra has got the legacy of great saints and heroes. However, for the first time in the history of the country, the government was formed by splitting two parties and this state was defamed. This election is therefore important for the self-respect of Maharashtra, said Congress leader and star campaigner Kanhaiya Kumar while addressing a public meeting at Armori this afternoon that was organized for the campaigning of Congress candidate Ramdas Masram.
Mr. Vijay Wadettiwar, leader of opposition, Dr. Namdeo kirsan, MP, Mahendra Bramhawade, DCC chief, Vishwajeet Kowase of youth Congress, Sudhir Bhatkulkar, senior Congress leader, Surendrasingh Chandel of Shiv Sena, Dr. Mahesh Kopulwar of CPI, Amol Marakwar of CPM, Iliyas Pathan of Samajwadi Party, Hansraj Undirwade of RPI, Harish Mane, former ZP chief were prominently present.
Mr. Kumar said that businessman Adani was present in the meeting to topple the state government. The power centre of Maharashtra has passed into the hands of Gujarat’s traders. Projects, lands in Maharashtra were shoved down the throats of Gujarat traders. Maharashtra’s self-respect has suffered. Maha Vikas Aghadi has to be elected to power for regaining this self-respect.
Speaking further Kumar said that the BJP is misleading by saying that this is a crusade for the religion. If this is a crusade, we are with it. But will this war be fought for employment, farmers, he asked. Prime Minister Modi says that we have become the third largest economy. But in reality, 80 crore people here are still standing in queues for 5 kg of free grain. In the arrogance of power, the BJP government is nurturing the interests of industrialists. Maha Vikas Aghadi has decided to implement a five-point program for the all-round development of Maharashtra and appealed the people to oust the Maha Yuti from power, which is taking away jobs from the hands of the youth who are running the industry.
Mr. Wadettiwar said when BJP gets into trouble in elections, they remember religion and hit out at those who spread poison in the name of religion and created a rift in the society. The Shinde-Fadnavis government has mortgaged the identity and dignity of Maharashtra at the feet of Gujarat.
Mr. Wadettiwar said that unconstitutional government of Maharashtra has worked to loot the people. Mahavikas Aghadi is committed to all-round development of the state. Loan waiver up to 3 lakhs to farmers, 3000 rupees per month to women, unemployment allowance of Rs. 4,000 per month to educated unemployed, free ST travel for women and various development schemes will be implemented, he promised.
MP Dr. Kirsan said that you should elect Ramdas Masram Guruji with the same unity which the people showed during the Lok Sabha. Congress party as well as all constituent parties of Mahavikas Aghadi have nominated me and I will come true to this belief and will work for public service, said candidate Ramdas Masram.
The meeting was attended by a large number of people.
