Gadchiroli Dec. 7 (District Correspondent) The ‘Mahaparinirvana Din’ of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar was observed in the city by various organizations on Friday.
At Samyak Buddha Vihara in Gokulnagar programme was held under the chairmanship of Mr. Hansraj Undirwade, President of Samyak Samaj Samiti. Buddha Vandana was recited and portraits of Lord Buddha and Dr. Ambedkar were garlanded. Mr. Kawduji Undirwade of Samyak Senior Citizens Association, Ms. Sumitra Raut, President of Vishakha Mahila Mandal, Lahuji Ramteke of Bouddha Mahasabha were prominently present.
Similar programme was organized by Maharashtra Andhashraddha Nirmulan Samiti at Chandekar Bhavan. Mr. Rohidas Raut, journalist presided while Mr. Vilas Nimborkar, State Secretary of ANIS, Vitthalrao Kothare, District Working President were prominently present.
A portrait of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar was garlanded and two minutes silence was observed in his memory. The dignitaries spoke on the life of Dr. Ambedkar urging the society to follow his ideology for the well being of the people and the country.
Mr. Haridas Kotrange conducted the programme and Upendra Rohankar proposed the vote of thanks.
Tributes paid to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar at Samidha College of Civil Services. The program was presided over by Mr. Kalidas Raut, President of the Institute. Principal Manoj Dholane, Prof. Pritam Kohpare, Sushant Raut, Mithun Urade, Gaurav Meshram were prominently present.
Many students presented their thoughts and songs on the life of Dr. Ambedkar. Among them were Suhani Ramteke, Achal Jambhulkar, Nikita Gedekar, Deepali Shende, China Bhoyar, Sharvari Ranadive.
Speaking on the occasion, Kalidas Raut advised the students to do hard work keeping Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar as a role model and study regularly to build their careers.
