Gadchiroli Nov. 2 (District Correspondent) Maharashtra Andhasraddha Nirmulan Samiti and Lions Club Gadchiroli celebrated Diwali festival with the tribals of a remote village Vanarchuwa in Dhanora taluka by distributing sweets, blankets and clothes among them the other day.
Ms. Pingalabai Halami, Village Sarpanch presided over the programme while Mr. Devaji Sontakke, Prin. Samsherkhan Pathan, Vilas Nimbokar, State secretary of Maha Anis, Deepak More, Zone Chairman of Lions Club, Jitendra Tofa, Police Patil, Ganpat Boga of School Management Committee, Kusan Pada, President of Forest Protection Committee were the chief guests.
Mr. Vitthalrao Kothare, District Working President, Vivek Moon, Ms. Manjusha More, President of Lions Club, Lahuji Ramteke, Nitin Chambulwar Secretary, Lions Club Gad, Prabhakar Halami, Charandas Kumoti, Ms. Alkatai Gurnule, Ramraj Karkade were also present.
Shirts, pants, towels, school uniforms, saris, sweets etc were distributes to the villagers on the occasion to mark the festival of Diwali.
Mr. Suresh Ladke gave a detailed information about the activities of the Lions Club. Prin. Pathan appreciated the activities of Maha Anis and Lions Club and promised to support all the children of the village for higher education. Vilas Nimborkar expressed the opinion that villagers should adopt the thoughts of Saints so that no society should remain backward.
Mr. Upendra Rohankar made an introductory speech, Prof. Vilas Parkhi conducted the programme and Nitin Chambulwar thanked all those present.
