Gadchiroli Aug. 1 (District Correspondent) The death anniversary of Lokmanya Tilak and birth anniversary of Lokshahir Annabhau Sathe was observed by the National Service Scheme Department of Mahila Mahavidyalaya run by Saibaba Gramin Vikas Sanstha this morning.
Principal of the college Dr. Yogesh Patil garlanded the image of Lokmanya Tilak and Dr. Nandaji Satpute saluted the portrait of democrat Annabhau Sathe by garlanding it.
On this occasion Dr. Patil shed light on the thought of Lokmanya Tilak and the Annabhau Sathe and explained the relevance of their thought in the contemporary perspective. The present generation need to take inspiration from the lives of both these personalities and work for the society, he appealed.
Dr. Pramod Bodhane, Dr. Pragya Tripathi, Dr. Anil Chahande, Dr. Kundan Dupare, Dr. Jotsna Raut, Prof. Amit Gajbhiye, Prof. Maruti Waghdhare and teaching and non-teaching staff of the college was present.
The program was conducted by Dr. By Jyotsna Raut and vote of thanks was proposed by Prof. Amit Gajbhiye.
GONDWANA SCHOOL- The death anniversary of Lokmanya Tilak was organized at Gondwana Military School also. Principal of the school Sanjiv Gosavi presided over the program while Vice Principal Omprakash Sangrame, Supervisor Ajay Wankhede, Prof. Dr. Rakesh Chadgulwar, Prof. Gajanan Dhole, senior teacher Ghanshyam Walke, Yogesh Asamwar Rupesh Barsagade, Shaheed Sheikh Santosh Bobate, Namdev Pradhan were mainly present.
At the beginning of the program, the statue of Lokmanya Tilak was garlanded and the lamp was lit. Principal Gosavi highlighted the life of Lokmanya Tilak and said that ‘Swarajya is my birthright and I will get it’ Tilak instilled new enthusiasm in the youth at that time. He gave a new life to the freedom struggle.
