Gadchiroli: The induction ceremony of the new executive of Lions Club Gadchiroli unit was held at the Celebration Hall recently.
Ms. Manjusha Deepak More has been selected as the President of the Lions club, Nitin Chambulwar as the Secretary. Ganesh Pardeshi as Treasurer Mahesh Borawar, La. Kishore Chilamwar and Dr. Arun Prakash as the vice presidents. Ms. Nilima Deshmukh as Joint Secretary and Purushottam Vanjari as Deputy Treasurer was unanimously selected. On this occasion former Governor MJF Shailesh Bagla administered an oath of office to the new office bearers.
The new members Savita Battuwar, Dr. Preeti Patil, Nandini Chilamwar were also sworn in by Mr. Shailesh Bagla.
Speaking on the occasion Shailesh Bagla said that Lions Club Gadchiroli is completing 25 years this year and this club has always been a leader in its social work in the district. The club has a reputation in District 3234 H 1 as an organization doing excellent social work in Naxal affected areas. Zone Chairperson Deepak More also wished the club for its success.
Newly appointed President Manjusha More said, Lions Club is the largest social organization working in 204 countries and provides services for prevention of blindness and cancer treatment. This year Lions Club Gadchiroli aims at organizing various activities.
Mr. Satish Pawar, Kishore Cheelamwar, Nitin Chembulwar were felicitated as the outstanding club office bearers of the previous session. To mark the completion of 25 years of Lions Club Gadchiroli, all the former presidents were felicitated by the former Governor Shailesh Bagla. The Lion members who had done excellent work in the previous year were also felicitated on the occasion.
Mr. Purushottam Vanjari was honoured as the Lion of the Year award, Nitin Battuwar as the Best Lady Lion and Manjusha More as the Best Lady Lion. Gulabrao Madavi, Mamta Kukdapawar, Suchita Kamdi and Mahesh Borawar were honoured as the Best Supporter Lion.
Also, the children of the club members who excelled in class 10th and 12th examinations Purvi Padmavar, Ananya Mirge, Anushree More, Jeet Pawar were honoured with badges.
Ms. Sandhya Yelekar conducted the programme, Nitin Chembulwar proposed the vote of thanks. The program was attended by Founder President Narayan Padmawar, Ghisulal Kabra, Bhujang Hire, Sheshrao Yelekar, Nadirbhai Bhamani, Prof. Devanand Kamdi, Shemdev Chafle, Prabhu Sadhamwar, Girish Kukudpawar and others. Ms. Smita Ladke, Savita Sadamwar, Suchita Kamdi, Shalinitai Nimbarte, Rajni Hire, Mamta Kukudpawar, Vandana Chaple, Parveen Bhamani, Swapna Borewar, Swati Pawar, Madhuri Chembulwar, Chayatai Padmawar were present.
