Gadchiroli Aug. 9 (District Correspondent) Cultivating tribal customs, traditions, culture and preserving their identity forever is the need of the hour., said Food and Drug Administration Minister Dharma Rao Baba Atram. He assured to provide all possible help for this task.

He was speaking at the inauguration of ‘Koya King and Queen’ modelling competition here the other day. Dr. Devrao Holi presided over the program. Artist Monika Sahare, social worker Vasant Kulsange, Prof. Anil Dhamode, NCP Youth District President Leeladhar Bharadkar, Sonal Kowe, social worker Surendra Alone were prominently present.

Dharmarao Baba further said, tribal society is a glory for the country. This community has a glorious history and it is the need of the hour to preserve it. He expressed hope that the future generation will take its example and inspiration from this rich culture and move towards development. He suggested holding discussions, seminars, conferences along with modelling shows in urban areas like Nagpur, Mumbai to show the tribal culture to outsiders.

From the chair, Dr. Devrao Holi expressed the feeling that the tribal community will show its identity to the world by preserving the traditions and especially the language of the tribal society and develop the society in an all-round way further.

Colourful modelling was shown in the show by the youths depicting the tribal costumes, culture and tradition. The show evoked tremendous response from the tribal youths. Mr. Atram was felicitated on the occasion by Ms. Manisha Madavi by presenting him a shawl, traditional crown and a sapling.

At the outset, Ms. Manisha Madavi, chief Organizer of the Koya King and Queen show welcomed the guests and gave details of the show in her introductory speech. A large number of youths and art lovers attended the show.
