Gadchiroli July 28 (District Correspondent) Kargil Vijay Diwas was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the Kargil Durga Utsav Mandal at the Kargil Chouk here the other day by honouring the ex-soldiers who participated in the Kargil War.
A procession of the Kargil soldiers was taken out in the city along with school students. Flowers were showered on ex-servicemen at Kargil Chowk. Colonel Vikram Mehta of Kargil war, Colonel Ramnath Swamy, Superintendent of Police Nilotpal, President of Kargil Memorial Committee Uday Dhakate, Faguwa Oron – Manager CSR of Lloyds were prominently present on this occasion.
Mr. Yashwant Singara, Senior Security Officer, Subhedars Ram Pratap, Jagdeo Raut, Niranjan Das, Hawaldars Subhash Narote, Ramesh Kitte, Praveen Tayde, Vinod Kumar, Ranjit Singh Naib Subhedar Rahul Singh, Nayak Kailash Sidam Constable Mahadev Wasekar, Ishwar Raut, Somnath Wairagade, Dr. Naresh Bidkar, Sunil Deshmukh, Revnath Govardhan, Prakash Bhandekar laid wreaths on the memorial. On this occasion, the family members of the ex-soldiers and distinguished citizens of the city were present.
The students of Gondwana Sainik Vidyalaya, Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Poddar School, Vivekananda Junior College, Rajiv Gandhi Primary School etc. participated in the rally.
Every year since the year 2000, Kargil Chowk Durga Utsav Mandal President Uday Dhakate, Secretary Prakash Bhandekar, Vice President Kalu Govardhan, Mahendra Masram, Rupesh Salame, Vicky Ramteke, Mahadev Kamble have been celebrating Kargil Victory Day every year since the year 2000.
The program was moderated by Gajanan Dhole and Sunil Pendorkar. Ms. Suchita Dhakate, Vidya Kumre, Vanita Dhakate, Madhukar Chinchghare and others worked hard for the success of the programme.
