Kargil Din celebrated at Kargil Memorial, Gondwana Sainiki School.

Gadchiroli, July 26 (District Correspondent) Kargil Vijay Din was celebrated at the Kargil Memorial here on Saturday and here and rich tributes were paid to the brave martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the Kargil War.

The programme was organized jointly by Lloyd Metals and Energy Limited, Kargil Smarak Samiti and Ex-Servicemen Association.

The program was attended by a large number of citizens, students, ex-servicemen, officers and dignitaries from various walks of life. Even in the pouring rain, citizens stood up in queues.

The programme was presided over by retired Colonel Vikram Mehta, Resident Director of Lloyd Metals and Energy. MP Namdevrao Kirsan, former MP Ashok Nete, Kargil Chowk President Uday Dhakate, President of the Traders’ Association Ghisulal Kabra, Lloyd’s Himmatsingh Bedla, Lloyd’s Director Natarajan, Chief Officer of Municipal Council Suryakant Pidurkar, were present.

The participation of students of Gondwana Sainiki Vidyalaya and Rajiv Gandhi Primary School was remarkable. The program was conducted by Nandu Kumre, while Mahadev Wasekar proposed the vote of thanks.

GONDWANA SAINIKI VIDYALAYA–Kargil Vijay Diwas was also celebrated at the local Gondwana Sainiki Vidyalaya. The program was presided over by the Vice Principal Om Prakash Sangrame, while the chief guests were the school supervisor Ajay Wankhede, Military Director Rishi Vanjari, and Hariprasad Dhyani. At the beginning of the program, the dignitaries paid tribute by garlanding the Amar Jawan replica made by the students.

Mr. Rishi Vanjari gave special guidance about Kargil Vijay Diwas. He said that even in very difficult circumstances, the Indian Army, without any hesitation, drove the Pakistani Army from their positions on the mountain peaks of North Kargil district of Ladakh in 1999 and finally hoisted the victorious flag. And that is why Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated.

Vice Principal Omprakash Sangrame said that the sacrifice of the martyrs should not go in vain, always remember their sacrifice and try to serve the country in the best way possible.

On the occasion, Mr. Sunil Lokhande presented the patriotic song ‘Kar Chale Hum Fida’. The program was conducted by Dr. Rakesh Chadgulwar while the vote of thanks was given by Ravindra Kore. The program received special cooperation from the NCC cadets of the school.
