Gadchiroli Dec. 7 (District Correspondent) A grand rural kabaddi and volleyball tournament for adults was organized at village Marda near here by the youth sports club on Friday.
The tournament was inaugurated by social activist Dr. Sonaltai Kove. Principal Brahmankar presided. State president of the Human Rights Organization, Dr. Pranaybhau Khune lighted the sports torch. Dr. Chetan Kove Saheb, Pramod Asutkar, Kalidas Kadyami, Premila Narote, Keshav Kadyami, Santosh Wadde, Kantatai Halami were the guests.
Dr. Sonaltai Kove said that youths should become skilled players in games and play games like Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Cricket, Volleyball and develop the village. Youths should come together and make a unity. Art and sports should be given scope in rural areas.
Dr. Khune stated that it is the need of the hour to organize art and sports competitions in every village to encourage the youths and their inner skills.
IPL cricket player Suraj Potavi from Devapur and state-level kabaddi player Narote were felicitated and provided financial assistance on behalf of the Gram Sangh in Marda.
The program was conducted by Mr. Shivaji Narote. The program started by hoisting the tribal Gondi religion flag. On this occasion, women’s self-help groups, women’s village associations and villagers were present.
