Jumbo menace in Manapur, woman injured.

Gadchiroli May 12 (District Correspondent) After creating havoc in Deshpur Kuranza villages just two days back, the two wild elephants separated from the herd turned their morcha towards village Manapur in armori taluka this morning and pushed away an old woman of the village with its tusk.

The woman, identified as one Indira Sahare (67) has been admitted in the Sub district Hospital of Armori after giving her preliminary treatment at Delanwadi PHC, where she is undergoing treatment.

The woman, along with other villagers, had gathered to see the elephants when the incident took place. The villagers then drove away the elephants. The elephants then proceeded towards the hill of Manapur, according to eye witnesses.

On getting the information, Armori MLA Ramdas Masram visited Manapur village and also visited the hospital to enquire about the health of the injured old woman. Mr. Masram then talked to the forest department officials and instructed them to drive the elephants away and also to give the necessary financial help to the injured woman.

District Congress Committee Vice President Dilip Ghodam, Sarpanch Mayuri Pendam, former Sarpanch Rambhau Hastak, Forest Guard, Nanavare, Tukaram Vairkar, Ramhari Chaudhary, Dhanpal Bhaisare and others were present on the occasion.
