Mr. Jawed Khan

Gadchiroli July 8 (District Correspondent) Social worker and taluka president of the Minority Congress Javed Khan showed an example of humanity by taking initiative in cremating a body of a man who had died in the district hospital, even though he did not know the deceased.

The deceased was identified as Vinod Chaudhari (55). He had been working as a labourer in Shakir Sheikh’s scrap shop in the city for some time. He was admitted to the hospital after his health deteriorated for two weeks. He died while undergoing treatment.

He did not have any identity card, nor were any relatives, acquaintances, or contact numbers available. As a result, a difficult situation arose before the hospital administration and the police. The body remained unattended in the hospital.

At such a time Mr. Shakir Sheikh, conveyed this serious information to Mr. Javed Khan. Mr. Khan immediately took the initiative. Without asking anything about the caste or religion of the deceased, he took full responsibility for his last rites. He reached the hospital and completed all the legal procedures. The body of the unidentified man was then cremated with honours in coordination with the police and doctors.

Minority Congress workers, local social workers and colleagues were present at the time. Javed Khan’s act of humanity is being appreciated throughout the city as he showed through his actions what the true religion of humanity is!
