Gadchiroli Sept. 10 (District Correspondent) The festival of Janmashtami was celebrated at the Carmel High School here with much fervour and enthusiasm. The students participated in the programme with their colourful costumes of the lord Krishna. A ‘Dahi Handi’ was also organized in the school to mark the occasion in which students participated in large numbers.
The women parents played the role of Mata Yashoda and danced with Krishna. Principal of the School Fr. Jinesh Matthew, vice Principal Sister. Vimala, Sister Nancy, Incharge of Pre-Primary school Priya Thakre were prominently present on the occasion as the chief guests.
The winners of dance competition were given prizes. The students were distributed sweets to celebrate the function. Ms. Ranjana Jawle conducted the programme and Chhaya Bodhale proposed the vote of thanks. A large number of students, teachers and parents attended the programme.
