
Gadchiroli June 24 (District Correspondent) The disaster management system in the district should be kept on alert mode, all the concerned departments should work in coordination, and a robust messaging system should be developed to reach disaster advance warning to every citizen, instructed State Minister of Finance and Planning and Co-Guardian Minister Adv. Ashish Jaiswal.
He was speaking at the District Disaster Management Review Meeting at the collectorate here on Monday. District Collector Avishyant Panda, MLA Dr. Milind Narote, MLA Ramdas Masram, ZP CEO Suhas Gade, DyCF Milish Sharma, Additional Collector Nitin Gawande, RDC Sunil Suryavanshi, Disaster Management Officer Nilesh Teltumbde were prominently present.
Mr. Jaiswal said that every person should have a mobile phone and internet. Only through this can the administration communicate directly with the citizens. Keep the mobile phone number of every citizen registered and give them timely pre-disaster alerts. He appealed to set a target of providing mobile and internet facilities to 100 percent of the citizens of the district for a developed Gadchiroli.
He asked the officials to check where and how the materials purchased for disaster management have been kept, whether they have been used by the system, and whether care is being taken to prevent damage to the materials.
In order to get data of houses in the flood-prone zone, he ordered the completion of the red and blue line survey as soon as possible. The families living on the river banks be relocated and given houses through the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Ensure that no house will remain in the river bed next year. Keep health, electricity, communication and broadcasting systems ready, he suggested.
Medical teams should be appointed in villages with no connectivity to provide services to pregnant women. Agreements should be made with service providers to provide ‘air ambulance’ services in flood situations. Mosquito nets, spraying be done to prevent malaria and child mortality. Take measures to prevent power supply disruption by pruning trees along the lines. He instructed to investigate bogus doctors and take action against them. Bridges on roads in forest areas do not require separate permission. The PWD, Zilla Parishad and National Highways should maintain the roads, otherwise a case will be registered, he warned.
The bridge on the road is a part of the road, it is wrong to seek permission from the Forest Department for the construction of bridges he said, and directed to approve maximum roads under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana.
