Gadchiroli May 18 (District Correspondent) International Nurses Day was celebrated at Shri Sai Institute of Nursing and Science recently in the Institute auditorium.

Prof. Uttam Khante presided over the programme. Dr. Prafulla Hulke, district mother care officer, Dr. Prashant Akhade of the women and child Hospital were prominently present as the chief guests.

Speaking on the occasion Dr. Hulke said that the trainee nurses should not just rely on studies but focus on the serious diseases like anemia, mal nutrition, malaria etc by visiting the actual field. They should render good health services to the patients and perform their duties, he advised.

Prof. Khante called upon the students to follow the principles of Laurence Nightingale and serve the patients humbly with positive approach.

The nursing students presented various art performances and also participated in the contests showing their skill. A street play was also presented on hand washing and care of pregnant mothers during the programme. Ms. Akanksha Godari and Kranti Shende conducted the programme.

Ms. Aishwarya Sontakke, Neha Olak, Reena Shelare, Payal Gowardhan, Rutuja Khobragade, Priya Barde, Monali Kannake, Kawanya Sonule, Archana Nimgade, Samiksha Sontakke and others took pains for the success of the programme.
