Gadchiroli Aug. 16 (District Correspondent) The Independence Day was celebrated by various institutions with a great enthusiasm in the city.

At Zilla Parishad CEO grounds Ms. Ayushi Singh hoisted the national flag. A Tiranga pledge was administered on the occasion to express dedication for the allround development of the country. A tobacco -free oath was also taken for the effective implementation of e cigarette and tobacco products. Skilling adolescent girls programme was declared on the occasion by Ms. Singh which aims at developing skill among 30,000 girls in the district.

A tree plantation programme was also organized in the Zilla Parishad premises in which the CEO and other officers planted saplings of different varieties.

Additional CEO Rajendra Bhuyar, Programme director of DRDA Prashant Shirke, Dy. CEO Shekhar Shelar were prominently present besides other officers and employees of the Zilla Parishad.

Surjagad Mines–The 78th Independence Day was celebrated with great fervour at Surajagarh Iron Mines, operated by Lloyds Metals and Energy Limited. Employees from both Lloyds Metals and Thriveni Earthmovers Pvt. Ltd. participated enthusiastically.

The event began with a flag-hoisting ceremony led by the Chief Guest, Mr. K. Sathy Rao. Mr. R. R. Sathpathy, Executive Director (Beneficiation), addressed the gathering, accompanied by Unit Head Mr. Subhasis Bose (Vice President – Mining), Mr. L. Saikumar (AVP – Corporate Affairs), Mr Arun Rawat AVP HR and Admin and other senior officers.

The celebration included a dance performance by the employees and concluded on a joyful note with an award ceremony. Awards were given to employees who excelled in various in-house sports competitions, as well as to the Best Employee of the Year from different departments, recognizing their dedication, discipline, and attendance.

The Independence Day was celebrated at Samidha College of Civil Services also. President of the Institute Kalidas Raut, Devanandji Fulzle, Extension Officer Gautam Meshram, Retired BEO, Tularam Raut, social worker, Prof. Dr. Rahul Raut were present as the chief guest.

The guests guided the students on the importance of the Independence and the great struggle made by the freedom fighters and national heroes. They also advised the students to study well and work for the betterment of the country and the people. Many students expressed their feelings on the occasion of patriotic song and Independence Day.

Prof. Pritam Kohpare, Prof. Sapna Kunghadkar, Prof. Sneha Mohurle, Madhukar Rohankar, Mithun Urade were also present. Introductory speech was made by Prof. Tillesh Mohurle while Prof. Ankush Gohane moderated the programme and Dipali Shende gave vote of thanks.
