Gadchiroli Aug. 16 (District Correspondent) The national flag was hoisted at the hands of Minister Dharma Rao Baba Atram on the occasion of 76th anniversary of Indian Independence Day in the collectorate premises here.

MLA Dr. Deorao holi, District Collector Sanjay Meena, SP Nilotpal, CEO Ayushi Singh, Additional SP Kumar Chinta, were prominently present.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Atram said since the formation of the district, there have been drastic changes in electricity, roads, education and health in the district.

As this is the concluding year of the 75 th Independence, initiative of ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ has been launched. Various programs have been planned by the administration. Gadchiroli district is rich in minerals and natural resources and the government has special attention towards this district. Priority was given to health, roads, bridges and employment related works, he said.

It is important for the government to strengthen the economy and provide employment to the youth of the district. The government is committed to the development by increasing employment and including every citizen in the development process.

Under the ‘Shasan Aplya Dari’ campaign, benefit of various schemes has been given to 6.98 lakhs of people in the district and Gadchiroli is the only district in the state to give benefit to large number of people, he pointed out.

A steel factory will be set up at Konsari based on iron ore at Surjagad. In the first phase, two units of 95 tonns per day capacity plant will be set up. For 904 villages of the district 595 mobile towers have been approved by the Department of Telecom.

Wadsa – Gadchiroli New Broad Gauge Railway Line Project 132.344 hectares of private land in Desaiganj sub-division is proposed and so far, 101.390 hectares land has been acquired through direct purchase. 71.72 ha area of ​​forest land has been approved in principle by the central government for this railway line, he informed.

An airport also is proposed at Gadchiroli to promote the industries here and a total of 213.51 ha. land at Murkhala, Pulkhal and Kaneri in Gadchiroli taluka has been proposed. New Medical at Gadchiroli has also been sanctioned and 20 acres of land has been provided for this, said the minister.

Under Chief Minister Solar Agriculture Vahini, 4122 agricultural pumps have been supplied electricity. The administration is trying to overcome the odds and provide necessary facilities to the rural areas. Mobile and internet networks are also are being provided at speed now. Government offices in all talukas are now connected to the Internet, informed Mr. Atram.

Naxalism is reducing in the district and the number of Naxal surrender is also increasing day by day. Substantial efforts are being made for surrender rehabilitation. Through police department’s Dadalora Khidki scheme, benefit of various schemes has been given to total of 4 lakh 59 thousand 277 citizens so far.

Food and drug department is an important department and now it has been decided to conduct the hearing of Nagpur- Amravati divisions at Nagpur itself. Separate building for food and Drugs department will be raised in Gadchiroli soon, he declared.

As this is a government of the people, we are determined to solve all the problems of the citizens for which everyone’s cooperation is required, he appealed.
