Gadchiroli Dec. 13 (District Correspondent) The government has approved huge funds for the development of infrastructure in Gadchiroli district in the state budget, starting a new chapter of development in the district. Along with the approval of Rs 500 crore for road development, a project proposal worth a total of Rs 80.18 crore for the construction of an auditorium, rest house, administrative buildings and revenue rest house has been approved in the March 2025 budget.
In order to provide a proper platform for school students, theatre artists and zadipatti artists, a fund of Rs 27.59 crore has been approved in the budget for the construction of an auditorium with a capacity of 750 seats. Gadchiroli district is known for zaadipatti drama. This project will provide a proper platform for local artists to present their art.
Due to the continuous visits of VIPs to Gadchiroli, the rest house at the complex area is becoming inadequate. Therefore, the government has approved the construction of a new VVIP rest house at a cost of Rs. 12.83 crore. Also, a fund of Rs. 5.25 crore has been approved for the reconstruction of the 127-year-old rest house at Indira Gandhi Chowk of the city. This modern rest house will be useful for public representatives and other dignitaries.
Gadchiroli district was formed in 1982, and the current Collectorate Office is about 43 years old. In order to speed up administrative work, approval has been given for the expansion of the Collectorate Office at a cost of Rs. 24.56 crore.
The demand for a rest house for the officials of the Revenue Department was pending for the last many years. This demand has finally been approved and a new rest house will be constructed for the Revenue Department at a cost of Rs. 9.95 crore.
All these approvals will lead to a major development of infrastructure in Gadchiroli district. All aspects of administration, auditorium, cultural sector and rest house and the overall development of the district will be achieved with this, it is hoped.
