Gadchiroli June 22 (District Correspondent) Yoga not only provides physical health, but also mental stability and peace of mind. Yoga is a very effective tool to overcome stress caused by excessive social media, fast-paced lifestyle and other reasons. However, if you want to get the real benefits of yoga, make it a part of your daily lifestyle, said District Collector Avishyant Panda on the occasion of International Yoga Day organized by the district administration at Gondwana University.

MP Dr. Namdeo Kirsan also guided the attendees and said, “Yoga creates positivity in the mind, removes negative thoughts and meditation leads to deep knowledge. Yoga is a lifestyle that gives longevity and satisfaction.”

The program was presided over by Gondwana University Vice Chancellor Dr. Prashant Bokare. Pro-VC Dr. Shriram Kawale, Registrar Dr. Anil Hirekhan, District Sports Officer Bhaskar Ghatale were present on the occasion. Under the guidance of yoga instructors Anjali Kulmethe and Milind Umre, the attendees demonstrated yoga asanas and pranayama.

Armori MLA Ramdas Masram and former MLA Krishna Gajbe were present at the program held at Armori. Yoga Day was celebrated at ITDP Office, Etapalli in the presence of Project Officer Naman Goyal. Yoga Day was also celebrated with enthusiasm in Aheri, Wadsa, Kurkheda, Korchi, various schools, as well as through yoga institutes and mandals in different parts of the district.

Special efforts were made by S.B. Badkelwar, Ghanshyam Wararkar, Chandrashekhar Meshram, Nazeek Uike, Kunal Mankar, Sunil Chandre from sports and university administration to make the program a success.
