Gadchiroli Jan. 15 (District Correspondent) Grand preparations are being made for the Gadchiroli Premier League (GPL) organized by Vijay Wadettiwar Fans Club (VWFC) from Jan, 20 next on the Government Stadium here.
The office bearers of the Fans Club gave the details of this tournament to the media persons this afternoon. Well known cricketer Mohd. Azaharuddin and Marathi film star Shruti Marathe will inaugurate the tournament. Mr. Vijay Wadettiwar, former Leader of Opposition will preside over. Ms. Shivani Wadettiwar, General Secretary of Maharashtra Youth Congress, Dr. Namdeo kirsan, Member of Parliament, D. Milind Narote, MLA from Gadhiroli, Mr. Ramdas Masram, MLA from Armori, Mr. Sudhakar Adbale, Adv. Abhijeet Vanjari, MLCs, Nilotpal, SP will be the chief guests on this occasion, it was informed.
This is the 8 th season of the GPL in which 21 league matches will be played. The first prize of Rs. 5 lakhs, second 3 lakhs and third 1 lakh has been declared for the winners besides several individual prizes.
The peach of the international level has been prepared and the ground is being developed for this tournament. The sitting arrangements for the spectators and other necessary arrangements are being made at full swing. The office bearers of the Fans Club are personally supervising these arrangements.
