
Gadchiroli April 25 (District Correspondent) In the wake of the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir that killed 28 innocent tourists, Kargil Chowk Durga Utsav Mandal, Gadchiroli organized an emotional tribute program in the evening of April 24 last with the tagline “Let’s gather for peace” and paid rich tributes to the tourists who were killed in the terror attack.
Dr. Namdeo Kirsan, Memebr of parliament from Gadchiroli Chimur Lok Sabha presided over the programme. Members of various organizations in the city, youth, women, senior citizens, social activists and common citizens participated in this program in large numbers. Everyone had candles in their hands, tears in their eyes and patriotism in their hearts.
Two minutes silence was observed in the program in memory of the martyred tourists and the attendees took a pledge to spread peace, unity and goodwill in the country. The entire area was overwhelmed with the slogan “Let’s gather for peace, spread the light of unity.
Mr. Uday Dhakate of Kargil Chowk Durga Utsav Mandal made a special contribution for the successful organization of the program. On this occasion, Vishwajit Kowase, Chandheshekhar Bhadange, Rajnikant Motghare, Sushil Hinge, Geeta Hinge, Vijay Salve, Sunil Deshmukh, Raju Pundalikkar, Motiram Hajare, Sanjay Gaddewar, Mahendra Masram, Rupesh Salame, Prakash Dhakate, Suchita Dhakate, Nilima Deshmukh and many others were present.
NCP (SP)– The Nationalist Congress Party (SP), took out a candlelight march was held at Indira Gandhi Chowk in the city in presence of Mr. Vijay Gordwar, city president of the Party to pay tribute to the souls of the innocent people who died in the terrorist attack in Pahalgam.
The workers lighted the candles in the square and observed two minutes silence in memory of the departed people. On this occasion, District Vice President Naeem Sheikh, Minority Cell District President Hussain Sheikh, former councillor Minal Chimurkar, Sadiq Pathan, Sunil Chimurkar, Nita Bobate, Rituja Kannake, Naima Hussain, Nilesh Kotgale, Mallya Kalwa, Asif Qureshi, Razzak Sheikh, Monu Pathan, Prashant Meshram, Baby Labhane, Imran Sheikh, and other office bearers and activists were present in large numbers
