Gadchiroli Sept. 3 (District Correspondent) The ‘Dadalora Khidki’ programme of the Gadchiroli Police Force has been honoured with ‘FICCI Smart Policing Award-2021’ by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industries.
The award was given in recognition of the various public utility activities taken up by the Gadchiroli Police for the people of the district.
The prestigious award in community policing category was presented to the Superintendent of Police Ankit Goyal in a special programme held at New Delhi on Friday. Police Inspector Mahadeo Shelar, Incharge of civic Action Programme, accepted the award, that consisted trophy and certificate, on behalf of Mr. Goyal.
Former Union Home Secretary G. K. Pillai, former DGP of Uttar Pradesh Prakash Singh were prominently present at the award giving ceremony.
The Gadchiroli Police has started Dadalora Khidki at 53 places in the district including Police Stations, Sub Police Stations, Police Assistance Centers for the welfare and progress of the people in naxal affected and remote areas under its Civic Action Programme.
The benefit of various government schemes is given to the needy people through these Dadalora Khidkis. They include caste certificates under Project Shakti, various developmental schemes under Project Vikas, Gopinath Mundhe Farmers Insurance Scheme, vocational training and employment, Agniveer online scheme, Project Krishi Samruddhi etc.
So far benefit of these schemes has been given to more than 2 lakhs of people in the naxal affected areas by reaching out to them and has tried to bring these people into main stream of the society. As any as 9026 caste certificates have been distributed, 55320 schemes of different nature, 1,20,705 certificates and documents, 169 insurance schemes, 5641 vocational training and employment, 11,633 project Krishi samruddhi yojna,, 1,546 project shakti schemes and 10,325 other initiatives were taken up under the Dadalora Khidki programme.
Taking cognizance of all this work, the FICCI has honoured the Gadchiroli Police force with its award. The Superintendent of Police Ankit Goyal has congratulated all the police officers and jawans in the district for this honour and has hoped that this work will be continued in the future too.
Very recently the Gadchiroli Police Force was selected for the International Association of Chiefs of Police’s (IACP) Leadership in Community Policing Award for its outstanding performance in community policing. The award is going to be presented to the SP goyal at Dallas, Texas in the United States of America on Oct. 18, 2022.
Mr. Goyal is scheduled to visit the US to receive this prestigious award.
