Gadchiroli July 20 (District Correspondent) As many as 27 roads in various parts of the district are closed due to flood situation caused due to heavy rains. The roads are- Alapalli – Bhamragarh National Highway, Aheri- Moyabinpetha Road, Kurkheda -Talegaon Charbhatti Road crunch, Alapalli- Sironcha National Highway, Jaravandi to state border taluka Dhanora, Porla -Waddha Road, Wairagad- Jogisakhra -Shankarpur -Chop Koregaon road, Kurkheda -Wairagarh road, Karwafa -Potegaon Road, Gothangaon -Sonsari road, Wadsa- Navargaon Andhli- Chikhli Road, Lakhmapur Bori -Ganpur Haldimal, Alapalli – Bhamragarh National Highway, Ramgarh- Sonsari -Urandi Road, Bhendala- Ankhoda Road, Mul -Haranghat Road, Chandeswar Tola Road, Forkudi -Markandadev Road, Wadsa- Nainpur -Vithlgaon road, Chikhli -Dhamditola road, Gothangaon- Chandgaon road, Armory -Ramala Road, Wairagad -Kadholi Road, Pendhri-Dhorgatta Road, Bhadbhidi- Regdi -Devda Road, Konsari -Jamgarh Road, Sarkheda- Bhapda Road.
There is a possibility of light to moderate thunderstorm with lightning at some places of Gadchiroli district, according to weather department.
Meanwhile, District Collector Sanjay Daine was present on the field at various places during rains and asked the officials to take necessary measures. He also assured them about the help by interacting with the citizens.
Collector Daine visited Chandala Kumbi, Armori, Wadsa, Kurkheda talukas. He interacted with citizens and school children during the visit. He appealed to the citizens to be careful, not to cross the bridge in haste when the water is flowing on the bridge, not to stand under the tree when the lightning is flashing. He also instructed the administrative agencies to keep a close watch on the situation and to take necessary measures regularly to ensure that the citizens are not disturbed.
A heavy rain warning was issued in the district for three days from yesterday. Also, there was a notification that a large discharge would be released from the Gosekhurd Dam. Along with this, due to heavy rain since yesterday, a flood-like situation was created in the district and many traffic routes were closed for some time, in some places, water entered the houses on the banks of the river and in some places, there were complaints of mud and gravel being washed away from the road. The Collector quickly took notice of this and visited these areas today while it was raining.
Collector Sanjay Daine along with Deputy Collector Vivek Salunkhe, District Disaster Management Krishna Reddy, Nilesh Teltumbde, concerned Tehsildars, Police Officers, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and District Disaster Management Team, local disaster friends and citizens were present for the relief work.
