Finally bus reaches Gardewada thanks to police force’s initiative.

Gadchiroli Sept. 23 (District Correspondent) An ST bus has finally reached the remote and naxal affected village of Gardewada for the first time. With the initiative of the district Police, a bus from Gardewada to Aheri has been started by Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation.

Gadchiroli district is known as a Maoist affected district. The police force however, has been striving to reach the citizens of remote areas of the district. Gardewada was once considered a stronghold of the Maoists. On January 15 last, a new Police Help Centre was established by Gadchiroli Police Force. Since the establishment of this Centre, various amenities have been made available to the citizens of the area by the Police Force. As a part of this, a bus was started.

Before the creation of the new Police Help Centre, there was no road to go to other villages and the bridge at Tadguda between Gatta and Wangeturi was also not in good condition, so the citizens of 12 villages of Gardewada area were facing major problems. But with the continuous follow-up of the Gadchiroli Police Force, the construction of the bridge and the road at Tadguda was completed in time and in coordination with the MSRTC bus service from Gardewada to Aheri was also started.

A puja of the bus was performed by the women of the village. Bus driver Ramu Kolmedwar and Conductor Ganesh Gopatwar were felicitated with bouquets. The bus conductor informed the villagers about the stages of the bus journey, bus ticket prices etc.

With the starting of the said bus service, it will be convenient for the residents of Gardewada and other villages in the area to connect with other villages. All the citizens of the village thanked the Gadchiroli Police Force and the MSRTC saying that the bus service will help the students to go to school, get the benefit of medical facilities, bank and other government works without delay. After that, the bus was sent for the first round along with the villagers.

The programme was held under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Shri. Nilotpal, Additional Superintendent of Police (Campaign) Yatish Deshmukh, Additional SP (Administration) M. Ramesh, SDPO Hedri Yogesh Ranjankar. Assistant Command of CRPF Santosh Darange, Police Inspector Jitendra, Officer-in-Charge Gardewada Dhanaji Shinde, PSI Sangram Ahire, CRPF PSI Dewkule large number of villagers were present on the occasion.
