
Gadchiroli Feb. 22 (District Correspondent) Gadchiroli-Chimur Lok Sabha constituency MP Dr. Namdev Kirsan has demanded stringent actions against those responsible for writing abusive words against Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar on a bus stop of Somanpalli in Chamorshi taluka.
Dr. Kirsan, along with District Congress President Mahendra Brahmanawade and others visited village Somanpalli and held a meeting with the Ambedkarites and discussed the issue in detail.
Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and other great men are role models for us, using abusive language or writing insulting words about them is highly condemnable, Dr. Kirsan said. He expressed the feeling that the guilty person should be severely punished.
Meanwhile, Dr. Kirsan discussed the incident with the Superintendent of Police Gadchiroli through a telephonic conversation and instructed him to immediately investigate the incident and punish the culprit severely and asked the villagers to express their protest through constitutional ways.
Senior Congress workers Sunil Chadgulwar, Premanand Gongale, Jaysuk Gedam, Adv. Dinesh Raut, Ninad Dethekar, Pritam Ghonmode Vaigaon, Jitu Zade, Pramod Umre, Anand Godbole, Sunil Gowardane, Raju Raut, Namdev Meshram, Kajal Meshram and the citizens of Sagnapur, Chak No. 2, Amboli, Vaigaon, Adyal, Kishthapur, Mudholi Rith, Konsari were present in large numbers.
ASHOK NETE- Meanwhile, former MP Ashok Nete has also demanded stern action against the culprits of the incident. Mr. Nete met the Ambedkarites at Ashti when he was on way back to Gadchiroli from Allapalli and sought the information of the incident. He then talked to the PSO of Ashti and asked him to arrest the culprits soon.
Senior BJP workers Prakash Gedam, Ashish Pipre, Dharmaprakash Kukadkar and others were present on the occasion.
“Insult of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar will never be tolerated. The future of New India rests on Babasaheb’s thoughts, therefore we will strongly oppose any act that creates unrest in the society, said Mr. Nete.
