Gadchiroli July 31 (District Correspondent) Gadchiroli – Chimur Lok Sabha MP Dr. Namdeo Kirsan has demanded special package for the district of Gadchiroli for its speedy development and solving the problems.
While raising a issue in the parliament, Dr. kirsan said that the Gadchiroli-Chimur lok Sabha constituency has been receiving heavy rains since last week and due to this, the whole life has been disrupted as there has been flood situation in the district. Many villages have been cut off as the roads were washed away, people have to face health and other problems.
There has been immense damage to agriculture, residential houses and cattle because of the floods. All these are critical conditions in the district which are needed to be addressed effectively, Dr. Kirsan said in the Parliament House during the ongoing session in Delhi and requested the Speaker of the House to direct the government to announce a special financial assistance to the district and the development of Gadchiroli-Chimur Lok Sabha Constituency.
Dr. Kirsan also apprised the Speaker about the situation that a patient was carried on the shoulders for 18 kilometres with the help of a cot to reach the nearesr hospital and also the incidents of a pregnant woman being carried across the drain with the help of a JCB machine.
Gadchiroli district is suffering from many problems. In order to solve the problems of the district and develop it, a provision of 10,000 crores should be made directly from the Centre to the district every year in the budget and a development board should be established for this purpose, he demanded. He requested the Speaker to convey this matter to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
While Dr. Kirsan’s speech was going on, the Speaker tried to stop him from raising the issue of the Lok Sabha area by saying that the issue belongs to the state government, but the MP put forward his issue.
As I am a representative of the people, my duty is to put forward the problems of the people in the House of Parliament but the ruling BJP is trying to suppress the voice of the people of Gadchiroli through the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Kirsan has alleged in a statement issued here.
