Gadchiroli Jan. 17 (District Correspondent) Gadchiroli-Chimur Lok Sabha MP Dr. Namdeo Kirsan has demanded that the payment for the paddy purchased through the government paddy procurement centres should be given to the farmers immediately.
Gadchiroli Chimur Lok Sabha constituency is situated in a very remote and backward area and most of the citizens of the Lok Sabha constituency are dependent on agriculture. Apart from agriculture, there is no other major means of employment available to them.
The farmers do their farming activity by taking loans from various banks and other sources, but even after the harvest and selling the paddy, many farmers have not received payment for the sale of their paddy. Because of this, the farmers are facing financial and many problems, Kirsan pointed out.
When the matter was discussed with the concerned officials, it is being told that they cannot do anything as the funds from the government is delayed. In all this process, the farmers have to wait for their rightful money, therefore, the payment of the farmers be made immediately, demanded Dr. Namdev Kirsan.
Dr. Kirsan has also warned of an intensive agitation against the government if there is a delay in the payment.
