Gadchiroli Oct. 25 (District Correspondent) Showing a massive show of strength and a firm determination to contest the election, two-time BJP MLA Dr. Devrao Holi filed his second set of nomination as a BJP candidate today though his name has not been officially declared by the party yet.
Prior to filing the nomination, Dr. Holi held a huge public meeting on the grounds of Abhinav Lawns here in which he strongly criticized his opponents from BJP for creating hurdles in his candidature and opposing him without any reason.
I have done the developmental works in the constituency during my tenure of the last ten years as an MLA what the Congress representatives could not do in the last 60 years, Dr. Holi said declaring that he will contest the election at any cost despite the opposition.
Mr. Baburao Kohle, senior BJP leader, Pramod Pipre, Ramesh Bhurse, state executive members of BJP, Ms. Yogita Pipre, former civic chief, Hemant Jambewar, Rakesh Belsare senior leader of Shiv Sena (Shiv Sena), Dr. Tamdeo Dudhbale, Loukik Bhiwapure of NCP (AP), Marotrao Ichodkar, former Chairman of Panchayat Samiti, Vilas Dashmukhe, former Dy. Chairman of Panchayat Samiti were prominently seated on the dais.
A huge rally was then taken out from the Abhinav Lawns to SDO office on Dhanora Road amidst the playing of drums and shouting of slogans with decorated bullock carts and carvan of vehicles with Dr. standing on the truck with the prominent leaders. Dr. holi then proceeded to the Returning Officer’s office along with his supporters and filed the nominations.
The prominent BJP leaders including former MP Ashok Nete, district president Prashant Waghre however were not seen in the public meeting and the rally too directly indicating that they stand opposed to Dr. Holi.
It should be mentioned here that the name of Dr. Milind Narote has been proposed by some BJP leaders and the party has not declared the candidate officially.
