Gadchiroli Dec. 30 (District Correspondent) Sanj Multi Activity Development Institute, Bhamragad, a voluntary social organization located in Bhamragad, organized a ‘Divyang Mela’ at Bhamragad recently.

As many as 67 Divyang men and women beneficiaries were registered for the benefit of Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Yojana, disability certificates, UDID registration etc in this meet. The organization has been doing work for the welfare of the disabled at its own expense for the last few years.

The gathering was inaugurated at the hands of Mr. Kishor Bagde, Tehsildar of Bhamragad while Dr. Bhushan Chaudhari, Medical Superintendent of the Rural Hospital Bhamragad, Mr. Gade, Mandal Officer of Bhamragad were prominently present.

While guiding the Divyangas in the gathering, Mr. Bagde gave detailed guidance regarding the educational and other schemes of Divyang students and their reservation and rehabilitation. Considering the difficulties of the disabled from the Divyang Mela, it was declared that a taluka-level meet will be organized at Bhamragad for providing artificial limbs and assistive devices for the disabled, as well as disability certificates and renewal of certificates for the disabled who are deprived of such certificates and the benefits of the same will be provided to the disabled people.

For the overall development of Bhamragad Taluka, it is necessary to empower and rehabilitate the disabled along with other components of the taluka, said Mr. Ruplal Gongle, President of the Sanj Multi Activity Institute. It is necessary for the society to change its approach towards the disabled and look at them positively, he appealed
