Dharna in Gadchiroli on Sept. 10 against Public Safety Act.

Gadchiroli Sept. 1 (City Reporter) Jan Suraksha Kayda Virodhi Sangharsha Samiti comprising various political parties and social organizations will stage the protest agitation on Sept. 10 next at Gadchiroli to press the demand of immediate repeal of the said Act.

The Public Safety Act  has been passed recently by the Maharashtra Legislature. On this background a meeting of the workers was held at the government guest house here on sunday in which it was unanimously resolved to stage the protest agitation. The dharna will be staged at Indira Gandhi square of Gadchiroli city between 12 to 4 pm.

The Public Safety Act is against the Constitution. It is a violation of freedom of expression and a suppression of the common people, it was stated by the all party leaders in the meeting and it was demanded  that the Governor should not sign the said Public Safety Act. For this, an appeal was also made in the meeting to the citizens who love the Constitution to participate in the said protest.
The meeting, chaired by Prof. Munishwar Borkar, was attended by Dr.  Mahesh Kopulwar,of the Communist Party, Rohidas Raut of the All India Republican Party, Gopal Raipure of the RPI, Bhojraj Kanhekar of the Bharat Mukti Morcha, Kunal Kove of the Adivasi Yuva Parishad, Vilas Nimborkar of the Andhashraddha Nirmulan Samiti.

Several prominent workers including Hansraj Undirwade, Prin. Prakash Dudhe, Prof. Anil Holi, Maroti Bhaisare, Pramod Raut, Vitthalrao Kothare, Prem Madavi, Dashrath Sakhare, Domaji Gedam, Roshan Uke, Jivan Meshram, Sukdev Wasnik, Haridas Kotrange, Sanjay Wakade, Lavkunsh Bhaisare, Omkar Shende, Chokhoba Dhawale, Damodhar Shende, Rohidas Fulzhele, Mosam Meshram and many other activists were present.
